Frequently Asked Questions
Can I upload SVG to free Canva?
No — SVG upload is a Canva Pro feature. Free users can convert their SVG to a high-resolution PNG (at imagetosvg.com or Inkscape) and upload the PNG instead.
Can I edit SVG colors in Canva after uploading?
No — uploaded SVGs are treated as images. To change colors, edit the SVG in Inkscape or a vector editor before uploading to Canva.
What SVG file size limit does Canva have?
Canva supports SVG files up to 40MB. Most design SVGs are well under 1MB, so this is rarely a limitation.
Is there a way to use SVG in Canva free?
Export your SVG as a transparent PNG at high resolution (300 DPI minimum), then upload the PNG to Canva. Quality is nearly identical for most use cases.
