Cricut Foil Transfer System with SVG Files
The Cricut Foil Transfer System uses a foil tip that presses metallic foil onto cardstock. In Cricut Design Space, set the material to Cricut Foil Transfer Sheet, place the SVG design, and the tip burnishes the foil onto the paper.
- Use Fine, Medium, or Bold foil tip based on design detail
- Load SVG in Cricut Design Space as a foil transfer operation
- Works on cardstock, poster board, and kraft paper
Toner-Reactive Foil with Heat Press
Print the SVG design with a laser printer (toner), lay foil sheet face-down over the design, and press with a heat press at 300°F for 5 seconds. The foil adheres to toner-printed areas only.
- Print SVG as black on white with a laser printer
- Place foil sheet color-side up over the printed design
- Heat press at 300–325°F for 5 seconds
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use foil transfer with a Cricut Explore?
The Foil Transfer System requires a Cricut Maker, Explore Air 2, or newer. Explore Air 1 does not support the foil transfer tip accessory.
Does toner-reactive foil work with inkjet printers?
No  toner-reactive foil only adheres to laser printer toner. For inkjet, use the Cricut Foil Transfer System or a Minc foil applicator instead.
