SVG for Professional Sticker Printers

Online sticker printers like Sticker Mule use SVG for their die-cut line.

  • Sticker Mule: upload PNG for print content, SVG or PDF for custom die-cut line
  • Printful, Printify: accept PDF or PNG for sticker designs
  • Upload rule: print design as PNG (300 DPI) + cut outline as separate SVG
  • The SVG defines the cut line — offset the SVG by 0.125 inches from artwork edges

SVG for Cricut Vinyl Stickers

Making vinyl stickers at home with Cricut.

  • Upload sticker SVG to Cricut Design Space as Cut Image
  • Print sticker design on sticker paper using home printer (for Print Then Cut)
  • Cricut registers the marks and cuts the outline precisely
  • Or: cut from solid vinyl for single-color sticker shapes
  • Best sticker materials: Cricut Printable Sticker Paper (matte or glossy)

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I create a die-cut line SVG for sticker printing?

In Illustrator or Inkscape: expand your sticker artwork by 3–5mm using Object > Expand (Illustrator) or Path > Dynamic Offset (Inkscape). Use this expanded shape as the cut line SVG. Send to printer as a separate SVG layer.

What resolution do sticker printers need?

300 DPI minimum, 600 DPI preferred for fine details. The print artwork is PNG; the cut line is the SVG. At 300 DPI: a 2×2 inch sticker = 600×600 pixel PNG artwork.
